About AIS

The Association of Indian Students (AIS) is a non profit socio-cultural student organization recognized by the Office of Student Activities at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). The purpose of the Association of Indian Students (AIS) is to provide an opportunity for all students to interact and share the joy of the Indian culture and heritage, and to educate the other students, by bringing awareness. The day-to-day functioning of the association is managed by a board of volunteers.

AIS organizes variety of events aimed at bringing about the feeling of camaraderie amongst the Indian students. A large portion of our efforts are directed towards making arrangements for new students who are coming from India to pursue their studies at the University. We provide initial support to incoming students of Indian origin in terms of airport pick-up, initial accommodation, and help new students to become familiar with the University campus, city as well as community resources. AIS strives to make India's presence felt on the international stage by showcasing India's rich cultural legacy in variety of international events held at UAB. We welcome you all to join this rewarding and enriching odyssey of AIS at UAB.
